Surf Events in Oregon
Over the last decade the popularity of surfing on the Oregon Coast has been picking up steam. With hotter temps, warmer wetsuits, and a wave of surfing interest in the Pacific Northwest, many have taken to the sea. Now a full lineup of summer surf competitions and events are calling surf enthusiast to join in on the competition and comradery of the sport. The Burrito Retro SURF Take over
May 18 & 19, 2024 | Cape Kiwanda Beach
Throw back with the Burrito Retro Classic contest. Dedicated to staying rad, smacking the lip, and never letting the audience know your next move this event acknowledges categories such as best retro board, best costume, and best retro maneuver. Otter Rock n’ Roll
June 15th, 2024 | Otter Rock
The Otter Rock N’ Roll is a youth surf contest held annually on International Surfing Day. The contest celebrates and promotes youth interest in surfing and our oceans. The contest invites youth 18 and under from Oregon and beyond to paddle out with friends and enjoy a fun competition. During the event beach cleanup challenges, a first board drawing, and pizza lunch keep the fun times rolling. Hosted by Surfrider the Otter Rock and Roll contest focuses on the next generation of wave riders and beach stewards.

Foamie Frenzie
June 1st & 2nd | Nelscott Beach
The Foamie Frenzie is a new contest in Oregon started in 2023. Prior to each heat competitors must spin a wheel to reveal the Catch Surf foam board that they will shred to defeat their competition. Full of style, tricks, and showboating this competition throws cation to the wind as competitors send it foam board style.

Agate Beach Surf Classic
September 7th & 8th | Agate Beach
The Agate Beach Surf Classic is a long-standing Oregon Surf competition. This contest welcomes surfers of compete in categories suited to their board preference with separate longboard, shortboard, and paddle board divisions.

Cape Kiwanda Longboard Classic
September 20th – 22nd | Cape Kiwanda Beach
The longest running and largest surf competition on the Oregon Coast the Cape Kiwanda Longboard Classic celebrates its 25th year. Drawing over 200 athletes each year, the Cape Kiwanda Longboard classic celebrates the Oregon surf community with no shortage of cross steps, sweeping cutbacks, and nose rides. Over the years the event has progressed and now features additional attractions such as live music, surfboard shaping demonstrations, and more.

Oregon Championships

A new addition to the Oregon surf event line up. Held at South Beach State Park in Newport this event is focused on elevating and providing more opportunities to Oregon Surfers.
